Dressing practically for cold weather is a necessary evil. Cozy knitwear and even cozier scarves must become a part of the daily rotation. But New Yorker and model Gigi Hadid is proving that cozy fall style can still be super fashion-forward. Stepping out in Manhattan this weekend for a walk with her daughter, Khai, she piled on cool (and comfy) seasonal pieces that included a trending shoe and a fleece by a cult-favorite label.

Up top, Hadid opted for a floral-printed, zip-up fleece by Juliet Johnstone. The artist, who is popular on Instagram, is known for her hand-painted jeans (Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner are fans), and recently started releasing other floral drops such as fleeces, hats, and tees. Hadid styled her cozy jacket with straight-leg denim, as well as a shoe of the moment: platform Uggs. Considering Ugg has recently partnered with designer labels like Telfar and Molly Goddard, it’s safe to say it’s become one of the buzziest (not to mention comfiest) shoe brands. Hadid opted for one of its classic styles, the Tazz slip-ons, which have a slight platform and an embroidered trim (they retail for $120).

By looking to an artful indie label and a trending shoe, Hadid proved bundling up can still make for a cool, fashionable look. In the fall and winter, it’s easy to look like the Marshmallow Man in too many layers, but her outfit kept things streamlined and proportional. It’s no surprise she delivered a good mom-on-the-go fit either, given she’s mastered the stroller walk many times before (she’s worn a Louis Vuitton bucket hat and even bedazzled jeans in the past). She’s not a regular mom, after all, she’s a cool mom.
